Obligatory Introduction Post

Hello internet land, my name is Robin (like the bird) and this blog is the story of how I am making it work being a (almost)27 year old college student with a penchant for crafting and a fondness for glamour.

Life’s not always easy when you’re going to school in your late (eek) 20s, working part time at the local pizza shack, sharing your space with roommates (again). I was forced to move out of my one bedroom apartment into a 2-bed 2-bath with roommies when I lost my job (which ended up being a good thing, but a hard adjustment). When sharing your space with virtual strangers, its all more important to have your own sanctuary. It has been my goal since moving in at the start of May to make my bedroom my own little slice of pretty purple heaven, but how to accomplish that with such little funds??

I’ve always been a creative type person. My favorite store as a teenager was Michael’s and I’ve probably spent more on craft supplies in my life than clothes. And crafting wasn’t my only love, I began my college journey by enrolling in culinary school, it was my dream to own a bakery, until I had a class called Production Baking where I got a glimpse of what life would be like being in a hot kitchen all day, and I realized it just wasn’t for me. Fast forward to present day and I am about to start at a 4-year college to pursue a degree in Marketing, a much better outlet for my creative energy I think. So while most of my days will be spent doing homework or bringing yet another side of ranch to table 6, my free time is spent in the kitchen or the floor of my living room creating something nifty, pretty, or delicious.

In a world where I am a broke college student in her late 20s (again, eek!), thriftiness and craftiness shall prevail!

(I'll just leave you with this picture of my cats being adorable)
